If you suffer from eczema, you know how dry skin, the intense itching, and the inflamed skin can affect your entire life, but it there are safe home remedies for eczema. When used continually they can actually cure the condition completely.

Coconut oil is one of the top home cures for eczema, since it really heals the skin. You should use the coconut oil on the irritated areas. It additionally keeps your skin moisturized, which helps fight dryness that commonly comes with this condition.

By using cold compresses with plain water can greatly improve the condition of your skin. Plain water is added to clothes and then applied to the affected areas. In addition, drinking enough water helps keep your skin hydrated.

A short time in the sun with no sunscreen is one of the home remedies for eczema because the sun can kill any bacteria on your skin due to scratching. Obviously, you do not want to spend hours sunbathing since the sun’s harmful rays can damage your skin, but 15 minutes in the sun between 10AM and 2PM can work wonders.

Eczema natural remedies also involve using watermelon skins or peels. You remove the fruit from the peel and then apply the inside of the peel to the affected region of the skin for a few minutes.

Witch hazel works well and soothes the skin. Add some using a sterile cotton ball up to six times daily. This will alleviate the inflammation and calm the skin.

Another good thing to have on hand is some hypoallergenic oil-based moisturizer that is very free of any ingredients that can be irritating to the skin such as fragrances or dye. It should be applied all over the skin, at least three times daily. Keeping your skin moisturized is imperative when you have eczema.

Skin inflammation in which there is formation of pustules is known as eczema. There are certain factors which can cause eczema such as allergies, nutritional deficiencies, tobacco smoke, soaps, latex, certain jewelry, pollen, varicose veins, faulty body metabolism, cold and dry weather and failure of the system to excrete poisons from the body. Some of the common symptoms of eczema are itching, itchy blisters, and redness on skin, inflammation, dry and flaky skin, rough and thickened skin and small bumps on forehead, cheek and neck.

Eczema Home Remedies

There are several home remedies for eczema which are convenient to use and are quite safe to try at home without any risk of side effects. Some of the popular home remedies for eczema which are being used since a very long time and have proved to be quite effective in many cases are:

1. One of the most effective home remedies for eczema is the use of coconut oil. All you need to do is apply coconut oil on the affected area of your body. Regular use of this home remedy will make your skin soft and will be very helpful in treating this ailment.

2. Aloe vera is considered to be one of the most efficient home remedies for eczema. Just cut an aloe vera leaf and extract its gel. Now apply this gel directly on the affected region of your body. You can apply it as many times as you like in a day. Regular use of this natural remedy will prove to be quite helpful in treating eczema.

3. Take some bitter neem leaves and crush them to form a paste. Now mix this neem paste with equal quantity of turmeric powder. Apply this mixture on the affected area.

4. Cold compresses can also be used to treat eczema. Take some ice cubes and wrap them in a towel. Now place this cold compress on the affected region. This will give you immediate relief from skin irritation.

5. Take one teaspoon of sandalwood and one teaspoon of camphor. Mix them to make a fine paste. You can apply this mixture on the eczema affected region.

6. Taking steam bath is also very useful in treating eczema. It will hydrate your skin and will help in opening the pores. After steam bath you should try applying moisturizer to the affected area.

7. Add one third cup of cold compressed sunflower oil and half cup of cider vinegar in your bathtub filled with water. Soak your body in this water for good results.

8. Papaya is also a good alternative for treating eczema. All you need to do is take some papaya seeds and mash them properly. Now apply these mashed papaya seeds on the eczema affected region. This home remedy will give you relief from the itch.

9. Take nutmeg and rub it on a smooth stone and collect its powder. Now add some drops of water to make a fine paste. Apply this paste on the affected area.

The above mentioned home remedies for eczema are some of the most effective natural remedies which are safe and simple to use and are quite cheap.

Finding eczema home remedies can be easy. In fact, a lot of people prefer home-made eczema cures to those that are purchased in drug stores. Home-made remedies for this ailment often consists of ingredients that you can easily find in your kitchen, in your garden, in your bathroom or in your pantry.

Other recipes for home-made eczema cures may also include items that you cannot find immediately in your kitchen cupboard or in your bathroom medicine chest. These ingredients however can be easily found in a lot of health food stores and in grocery stores near you.

One of the easiest eczema home remedies you can find is made with the use of one of the most common items you may have in your kitchen cupboard and that is oatmeal. A home-made remedy for eczema can be had with the use of oatmeal and a bathtub full of warm water. The recipe is simple enough for you to do and requires nothing more than a few cups of raw, unprepared oats, a food processor or blender and a tub of not-too-hot water.

Simply grind the raw, whole oats in your blender or grinder until it resembles a coarse powder. Run the water in the tub and slowly sprinkle the four cups of ground oatmeal in it. Make sure that the water is not too hot since hot water can aggravate your eczema symptoms. Once the tub is filled and all the oatmeal is evenly distributed, soak yourself in the tub for fifteen minutes. Once your fifteen-minute soak is up, rinse off with clean, warm water and towel yourself dry. Don’t rub yourself off dry. Instead, try to dab off the moisture from your skin in order to leave some of the oatmeal residue to coat your skin.

Another one of the more effective and easy to make eczema home remedies you can try is one that is made with the use of the aloe vera plant. This plant is well known for its healing properties and is therefore a natural choice for a lot of people when it comes to finding natural cures for eczema. There are a number of ways that aloe vera can be used to help ease your eczema problems and these include solutions that use the plant and remedies that use store-bought gels made with the plant.

For a natural eczema cure that uses the plant itself, you will need to do a few things. Simply get yourself a couple of aloe vera leaves and cut these open. You will find a sticky, clear gel-like substance coating the inside of the split leaf. Scrape this off and apply over the infected area. This is pure aloe vera extract and is known to be very soothing to such skin problems like eczema.

One of the easier ways to gather aloe vera extract from the leaves is to use your trusty blender once again. After splitting the leaf with a knife, scoop out the pulpy center of the leaf and drop this in a blender. Puree this pulpy substance and apply onto the infected area. Eczema home remedies like natural aloe vera gel can also be made ahead of time and can be stored in your refrigerator for a week in an airtight container.

Why spend more for eczema treatments and other over-the-counter medicines when right at your own home you can find natural home treatments for eczema that are proven to be effective? These natural home remedies are not only effective and safe in treating your skin disorder but they are also gentle on your pocket as most of them wouldn’t cost you anything.

Identify the Triggers

The first step in getting the most from your eczema natural home remedies is to identify the triggers for the skin disorder. These triggers will tell you exactly what you need to do to stop and prevent the skin disorder.

One of the more effective ways in identifying your eczema triggers is to monitor the occurrence and frequency of your eczema flare-ups. This way, you may no longer need the frequent visits to your skin dermatologist when you yourself can identify your eczema triggers and treat the skin disorder accordingly.

Any or a combination of the following can trigger your skin disorder:

• Deficient immune system;
• Food allergies and skin reactions;
• Toxins and other harmful substances in the body;
• Contact with substances that irritate your skin;
• Stress and poor lifestyle.

How to Get Rid of Eczema Using Home Remedies

When you are able to determine the exact triggers of your skin disorder, you’ll know the appropriate home treatments for eczema to apply to get rid of it. There are basic home remedies that can help cure the skin disorder no matter what the triggers are, but applying specific treatments will enable you to experience a more permanent result in eliminating eczema.

One of the best ways to achieve a more permanent result in eliminating the skin disorder that you can do at home is to boost your immune system. Eczema and other bacterial or viral infections do not stand a chance with a strong immune system. This is the most basic and yet most powerful weapon to fight the skin disorder.

To strengthen your immune system, fill your body with all the nutrients it needs like zinc, Omega 3 fatty acids, vitamins A, C, and E which you can get from fresh fruits and vegetables or other natural supplements. Along with lots of water to drink, these nutrients will flush out toxins and other harmful substances from your body to ensure optimal functions of your immune system and other organs such as your skin, the largest organ of the body.

Maintaining proper hygiene and keeping your body clean and hydrated is also one of the natural home remedies that you can do to get rid of eczema. Depriving the skin disorder of an environment to thrive will help eliminate eczema for good. Keep your body clean and hydrated. Let your skin breathe by avoiding too much chemicals found in most beauty and cosmetic products. Wear loose clothing preferably made only from cotton when at home.

Home treatments for eczema are the best option to take when you want to get rid of the skin disorder safely, effectively, and permanently. The best part of using these natural home remedies in treating eczema is that you wouldn’t hurt your pocket at all.

Do you want to discover some incredible techniques you can use to naturally eradicate your eczema? If you answered; YES, then you really need to get a copy of the Beat Eczema E-book!

Eczema, or Dermatitis, is a common skin condition with symptoms of redness, dryness, itchiness, inflammation and rashes. This skin condition is not contagious and is more common in western countries and the developed world. Many sufferers of eczema experience the urge to itch themselves which leads to thickening, crusty skin or blisters. To prevent itching try placing the affected area under cold running water or place an ice pack on the problem area. Scratching and itching will only make it worse. Anyone can be affected by this condition from babies to old people, both sexes and it can strike without warning. It has nothing to do with how clean you keep yourself, what clothing you wear or where you live in the world. As the disease is not contagious it is not really understood how one comes to get the condition in the first place or how it can be passed to another person.
Any region of the body could be affected by eczema. In both children and adults, the skin condition normally presents on the face, neck, and the insides of the elbows, knees, or ankles. In babies, eczema usually occurs on the cheeks, forehead, neck, forearms, legs or scalp. Dry skin can aggravate the condition and should be treated using a moisturizer to prevent cracking and flaking of the skin. Use a natural moisturizer rather than one containing artificial ingredients that may irritate your skin condition.
There is no absolute, definitive cure for eczema and as with many western medicine treatments only the symptoms are treated and not the root cause of eczema. Also once the treatment stops, the symptoms usually return. However, relief from this condition can be found with natural eczema treatments.
Natural medicine treatments for eczema include a general body massage to help strengthen the immune system and assist the body to expel fatty acids, toxins and stimulate body tissue regeneration. Applying essential oils to the skin in conjunction with massage will further strengthen the body’s immune system and help remove fatty acids. Commonly applied essential oils are Anegalika, Atlantic cedar, basil, cypress, grapefruit, lavender, lemon balm, sage and tea tree oil. Do not use essential oils if you suffer from blood-pressure problems or are pregnant.
There are many other natural treatments for eczema that are fully explained in the recommended product. This product is very popular and has been proven to provide permanent relief from eczema in most cases for people who try it.

I used to do hair and my exzema has calmed down a lot since I quit but every once in a while I will get a bad flair-up. I use gloves anytime I’m around chemicals and I want to avoid going to a doctor if possible. I am interested in what others have noticed about this itchy ugly problem!

Can someone provide me with alternative remedies for toddler eczema?

Question by Jenn: Can someone provide me with alternative remedies for toddler eczema?
My son is now 1 and has been suffering from eczema for quite some time. I have tried all the lotions, creams, and prescription medications but it only relieves it temporarily. I need ideas on more natural remedies that may be more beneficial for my son.

Best answer:

Answer by makin_the_same_mistakes
The problem with exzema is that it doesn’t go away completely. If you stop the treatments with the creams and oitments, it will always comeback, until your son outgrows it. We use a 2.5% hydrocortizone and a cream lotion on our daughter and she looks perfect now. But if we stop, it goes right back to what it was before.

What are some home remedies for eczema?

Question by Ariyan: What are some home remedies for eczema?
I am 13 years old with eczema and I had it since I was born. The rashes went down for awhile and now they’re back again and in different places. They are also much much larger. Some are starting to burn and especially when I touch. I have taught myself to ignore the icthing but this time I have the urge to scratch it even more. Last time I got it cleared up I used a cream my doctor prescribed me and it worked but it was aslo exspensive. My mother wants me to use all natural remedies now. I have no problem with that. So if anyone know someone or even experienced/experiencing eczema and know any natural home remedies, please do tell. Share your story. It will help alot. Thanks in advance!

Best answer:

Answer by lilly of the valley
you could try taking evening primrose oil capsules they are cheap and may help alot – aqueous cream is available in chemists and is cheap you could cleanse and moisturise with it but the best cream ever is Lancome’s Nutrix and it is expensive – go to a Lancome counter in your local department store and ask for some free samples they also sell it on ebay sometimes – the other thing is to identify what you are reacting to – try giving up milk for one week to see if its the cause, good luck

Question by Leangel Barnhart: Does anyone know any good remedies to get rid of dry skin?
About two years ago I got really bad sun poisoning on my face, and the area around my nose, including my nose, has been incredibly dry. I’ve used many different face cleansers that say they help with dry skin, but none have worked. Actually, they made it worse. So I was just wondering if anyone had some remedies that actually work that will help me? I’d really appreciate your help.

Do you know of any home remedies for eczema?

Question by Meg M: Do you know of any home remedies for eczema?
I have horrible eczema on my arm. It is driving me insane. I take a daily antihistamine, and I moisturize constantly. I don’t use soaps or lotions that are scented. I’m doing all of the “right” things, but it isn’t going away.

I recently moved, and I discovered that no one in my area takes my medical insurance…thus no prescription steroid creams for me. The OTC steroid creams don’t work at all.

Does anyone have ANY suggestions?

Thanks so much!

Best answer:

Answer by KD
Gold Bond – put it on until the skin can’t absorb anymore, wrap the area with cellophane and go to bed. In the morning, it should no longer be a bother. You may have to do this for a couple days in order for it to be fully effective.

Eczema is basically a skin disorder. It is also better known as dermatitis or inflammation of the epidermis. Eczema comes in different forms and infects mostly infants and children, although it can cause ongoing problems for adults also. The symptoms include swelling, redness, dryness, cracking, rashes, and even bleeding. In order to treat the problem you first need to identify the cause. Aside from the topical drug treatment, home eczema remedies are available to provide relief to patients. Here are some of the strategies you can use.

Environment Matters

Environmental factors can also aggravate dermatitis and eczema. A good home remedy for eczema is keeping your house clean. Dust mites have been identified as one of the possible causes for allergic dermatitis. The best way tot get rid of them is to keep your carpets and rugs clean. Vacuuming is an effective way to clean these materials. Good circulation of air can also help. Keep fresh air circulating by opening some windows, or if this isn’t an option invest in an air purifier.

Moisturizing

Dry skin aggravates eczema. If you want to avoid suffering from the flaking and scaling problems in your skin, moisturize with oil or creams. Use them twice a day for best results. If you have problems with eczema on your hands sleeping with moisturizing gloves can help to lock in the moisture. Increasing your fluid intake will also help to hydrate your skin from the inside out. Avoid using products that dry the skin. Soaps and harsh detergents can rob your skin of it’s natural oils and make it very dry and irritated. When choosing bath soap, go for the unscented and mild types with oil-based ingredients. These home remedies for eczema can help prevent worsening the condition.

Getting The Right Diet

Figuring out what foods cause allergic reactions is one of the most important eczema home remedies. Some of the foods known to trigger dermatitis include nuts, soybean products and dairy products such as eggs.

Bath and Beauty Basics

Your bathing and beauty practices can also be used as at home remedies for eczema. When you have a bath or shower avoid wash cloths that are harsh, such as loofahs or exfoliating sponges, as these cause tiny cracks in your skin and can make your eczema much worse. Instead use soft cloths or even none at all. When drying off don’t rub your skin or use any vigorous actions. Instead you should gently pat yourself dry with the towel. Use hypoallergenic moisturizers or oil to moisten your body. Apply the cream or lotion at least twice a day.

If you find that these home eczema remedies are not working for you then it might be time to see a dermatologist. Hopefully these eczema home remedies will help you with your symptoms, but if not then seek professional advice to help solve your problem.
